Canadian director, Christian Duguay has made a number of feature films in North America, most notably The Assignment (with Sir Ben Kingsley, Aidan Quinn & Donald Sutherland), Screamers, adapted from the Philip K Dick novel, which enjoyed great success in France, The Art of War (with Wesley Snipes), followed up by Extreme Ops (with Rupert Graves & Rufus Sewell).

Having well established himself in the action genre, he soon broadened his scope to include epic network TV miniseries, which were all nominated in multiple categories for Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. They include Joan of Arc (with Leelee Sobieski & Peter O’Toole), Hitler–The Rise of Evil (with Robert Carlyle), Coco Chanel (with Shirley MacLaine & Malcolm McDowell), Under The Roman Sky (with James Cromwell), and, most recently, all 8 episodes of the third season of MEDICI-The Magnificent (2020), a Big Light & Lux Vide production for Netflix and RAI, featuring Daniel Sharman, Synnøve Karlsen, Sarah Parish, Francesco Montanari and Johnny Harris.

Concurrently with such great success in TV, Christian Duguay didn’t neglect feature films, working in France and for the first time in his native French language on Jappeloup (2013, 1.8 millions tickets sold), Belle & Sébastien, L’Aventure Continue (2015, 1.5 million tickets sold) and Un Sac de Billes, based on the best-selling novel by author Joseph Joffo, which was released in 2017 and has surpassed 1.2 million tickets sold. All three films were voted ‘Coup du Coeur’ by the Allociné readers.

His most recent work is Tempête, based on the eponymous novel by Christophe Donner, to be released on December 21st 2022. Produced by Nolita Cinéma, IDL Films, Pathé and TF1 Studio, the feature reunites an exceptional cast, starring Mélanie Laurent, Pio Marmaï, Carmen Kassovitz, Kacey Mottet Klein, Carole Bouquet and Danny Huston.
